Why I like Rimworld
Why I like Rimworld
Rimworld is a sci-fi colony simulation and management strategy game that combines the systems of any other conventional colony simulator and an emphasis on the emotional aspect. This engagement is created through the customisation and recruitment of individual colonists, each characterised by their individual traits, skills, and behavioural tendencies. another thing about Rimworld that I love is the complexity or randomness of the AI storytellers, with Randy Random usually making the game feel chaotic and completely different, or Cassandra Classic making a more standard progression system with aspects of randomness but a lot more structure and predictability.
Another thing that makes Rimworld so great for me, is the complexity of the "pawns" with their advanced AI and complex mood/personality system deciding how the pawns can behave and react to certain situations. Their "mental break" system is also highly advanced; causing panic when a pawn doesn't follow orders or starts actively harming other people like the berserk mental state causing them to attack everything they see unconditionally.
The last main thing I will be talking about is the DLCs. The first DLC added is named "royalty" as it introduces a powerful imperial faction and a class "hierarchy" causing the pawns to have different behaviours and beliefs depending on how high up they find themselves. it also adds a powerful new system called "psycasts". The second DLC is
